Golf claps to Roadhouse, an offshoot of my favorite local watering hole eatery in Washington Square, Publick House. While I’ve always been a bit on the fence about Roadhouse, I am pleased as punch to say they serve a late-night menu to 1:30 a.m., unlike most all other establishments around my house.
And damn if it [...]

We were definitely in a pickle trying to find late night eats…

Mozzar-ella..ella…ella…the tomato-basil-cheese version of Rihanna’s hit?
I’ve come up with little delicious alternative to the standard tomato-fresh mozzarella-basil panini or french baguette. Instead, I made mine avoiding the mealy, flavorless, less than worth the coin vine-ripe tomatoes for the always fresh in winter, juicy grape ones, cut up thin, lengthwise. What’s more, I used this delicious mozzarella made fresh in Bennington, [...]

I will “wrestle” you to the ground if you think you’ll keep me out of this place…
Some chilly weekend nights, to cure yourself of the ultimate in “blahsies”, you need comfort foods and comfort friends.
And just as I was feeling quite withdrawn and abit doldrumy from the continued freezing weather, ice covered sidwalks, and general “its nearly February in Boston” malaise that comes every year, my brother invited me out for [...]

Didn’t Dan Rather once declare California the Big Burrito?
I would desperately like a delicious burrito right now. But that snowday has turned into a “stay undercover not jump around in snowboots” kind of a day since it is currently spitting slit from the sky, ruining all that pretty white stuff and making me feel very grateful that I actually already got out and [...]

On a strict diet of seafood? Yes, when I see food, I consume it. I just consume actually food that comes from the sea a bit more voraciously…
Tonight I od’ed on a family special–my old man’s most favorite restaurant, a little no frills seafood joint called The Clam King. Ere Pa adored himself the scallop plate, said they made the best around, and so tonight, I stuffed my face with various fried seafoods (it being my favorite food group), and yum, delish, [...]

“I’m never gonna get used to the 31st century. Caffeinated bacon? Baconated grapefruit?”
After mentioning earlier I thought that Maple Oat Bread would add a delicious bite to a B.L.T., I decided to give it a whirl. And boy. Oh boy.
Tonight’s dinner was what I have no coined the “A bit of Maple Syrup BLT” because I had an overstuffed lunch and thought just a sandwich for dinner [...]

Too many balls, plenty of juggling time?
With the kitty-cat pom-pom hybrid hat nearly finished save for a few small details, there’s nothing I love more than a quiet night balling new yarns and casting on various ideas for a new project.
I picked more medium weight merino wool yarn in two amazing hues of purple (one of my favorite colors) but I’m [...]

“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore”
Amore, it is. The pizza, I mean. Not the moon.
Yesterday was a perfect fall Sunday for a homemade pizza extravaganza and post birthday eat-a-thon in the Wolf household–and so began a collaborative effort which began with my Mum making up her famous bread dough.
My sister was in charge of all things thoughtful–rolling out the dough [...]

“Like the strawberry wives, that laid two or three great strawberries at the mouth of their pot, and all the rest were little ones.”
It’s hard to believe the summer is almost through; though late August is one of the best times for b.l.t.’s and fresh picked local strawberries.
Today, with fall like conditions, I bundled up in a bulky sweater and took to a applewood smoked turkey bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich on homemade English muffin toast. And of [...]
